Founded in 2000, by boe began as an intimate retail shop (originally named Annika Inez) on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, which also served as Annika’s workshop. The designer’s Scandinavian roots and diverse creative experiences-including interior design studies at Parsons and an apprenticeship with a couture dressmaker in Dubai-immediately yielded something altogether provocative and new in the contemporary jewelry market. Along with Annika’s uncommon take on architectural and nature-inspired pendants, cuffs, and earrings, Philippe’s mutually complementary professional experiences-including marketing studies at New York University and extensive production work and jewelry-making abroad-helped quickly grow the brand: Soon after opening their boutique, the Salames began expanding by boe with a larger retail outpost in SoHo and the establishment of a new wholesale jewelry business.

Short and Sweet

You love the colors of summer. Blues, greens and pinks that are light and airy- you know the drill.             Nobody puts baby in the corner, according to Johnny in Dirty Dancing. Well no one puts you in the corner either. Especially in that fantastic embroidered top, we just got in at Sweet Samba’s boutique. Embroidery is huge this summer and has been all over the runways of Bryant Park (New York Fashion Week). So even though we know you’re not a slave to trends, you like to be in the know. So scoop up on of these tops and everyone will be asking, where in the world did she get that?

Living it up once in a while like a celeb is fine, but dressing like one all the time. Ahem we can’t afford that. But lately the one shoulder dress has often been seen on many celebs. And obviously it is flattering on most body types because we have seen it on everyone from the star of Twilight, Kristen Stewart to Miley Cyrus to Kim and Khole Kardashian. And obviously the beautiful First Lady Michelle Obama kicked off this trend as she wore the up and coming designer Jason Wu’s white one shoulder dress to the inauguration ball this year. As a matter of fact, Wu will be the honoree at Fashion Cares here in Atlanta this August. But back to the point, one shoulder dresses are hot right now.
