Sweet Samba Boutique 13437784

Short and Sweet

You love the colors of summer. Blues, greens and pinks that are light and airy- you know the drill. Fittingly one of the newest summer dresses at Sweet Samba’s boutique is a watery blue, and not to mention, super cute. With an empire waist and ruching throughout the skirt, this little number will not only show off your bronzed shoulders, but a hint of decolletage. And when the breeze blows later in the night, wrap a colorful pashmina around your shoulders to combat your chill or loop a summer scarf ’round your neck. But whatever way you choose to rock it, we’re sure you’ll look hot. And that goes without saying.

A Brazilian bikini wax, to do or not to do it

Sunday, May 24th, 2009

I don’t know what sparked the conversation about Brazilians between my roommate, Shelley and I, but bikini waxing came up. But I had never had one. Shelley gets them done every month at this random nail salon down the street. She suggested I go with her and get one. But I wasn’t really convinced. I mean the whole shaving thing got old and I was certainly ready for something else, but I thought (and heard) bikini waxing was incredibly painful.

I got online to do some research and Googled for a while. Then I found this Facebook fan page for Sweet Samba Boutique & Spa that does bikini waxing (obviously). Intrigued by the name, I asked Shelley about it and told her about the $35 special for a Brazilian bikini wax. We decided to go in and try it out. $35 is not much and Shelley pays something like $60 every time she goes. Anyway long story short, I had a great experience at Sweet Samba. It’s in this super cute house by Piedmont Park. When I walked in, they offered me some wine! Ha yes I would like some wine in the middle of my work day. Thank you. My esthetician made me feel a lot better about the whole pain factor. She thoroughly explained the process and got down to business while I was watching TV. FYI they have TV’s on the ceiling which you know, kind of got my mind off of the whole waxing thing. Sure I was a little bit uncomfortable, but it was nothing like I thought. I’m definitely going back! So for all of you who think Brazilians are painful, stop by Sweet Samba. They are really clean, quick and professional. You won’t be disappointed. And check out their Facebook page!

Brazilian Wax Styles @ Sweet Samba

Brazilian Waxing Styles:

  • Regular Bikini Wax: Removes the hair outside the panty line.
  • Barely Bare Brazilian Wax: Takes the sides of the bikini line deeper than a regular bikini wax, and can also include waxing some hair on top to make a more defined ‘triangle’ area, or trimming down the hair left shorter. Also includes the back crack.
  • Samba French Kiss Brazilian Wax: Takes all hair off the in the front (except a small strip) and continues to the back. It takes hair off from the back crack like a Brazilian (see below).
  • Dare to Bare Brazilian Wax: Takes all hair off the bikini line, front all the way to the back (yes by your bum).

When to choose: The perfect option if you wear a thong bikini, or want to be completely or almost hairless in front and back.

  • Sweet Heart Brazilian Wax: Takes all hair off the bikini line, front all the way to the back (yes by your bum). Leaving a sweet Heart Shape. “Hello my Love”

Remember, you're in control of your Brazilian wax. So please tell the technician your preferences of where and how much hair you want removed or left. They can adjust the style to suit your needs and wants.

Not Sure about, My First Brazilian Wax

First, you must be sure that you want to get a brazilian bikini wax. Consider trying first the standard bikini wax which will remove the hair from your bikini line or the full bikini which will remove most of your pubic hair apart from the most sensitive areas. A brazilian bikini wax removes ALL your pubic hair.

We advise you to get your first brazilian bikini wax by a professional. Many women who try to give themselves a brazilian bikini wax, cause damage and their bikini area looks worse after the brazilian wax.

You could find a salon that offers a brazilian bikini wax in any big US city.

After locating a salon, find out how many brazilian waxes they do a week? Make sure that the persons who are responsible for the brazilian bikini wax are experienced. Ask to talk to customers that got a brazilian bikini wax from the same salon.

Open your purse. A brazilian bikini wax may cost up to 100 US dollars. However, the average cost is about 50 bucks. We advice you pay not less than the average price to get a professional treatment. This is your most valued area.

Come to your scheduled treatment with a good mood after taking a warm shower cleaning your pubic area.
You will get into a separate room. Then you will lie on a bed with your knees up or legs down.

Make sure you trim your pubic hair down to half an inch. Or the therapist will trim down your pubic hair with scissors to a length of about a quarter inch this may cost a little extra.

Afterwards, the real thing will start. The waxer will start the waxing process. She will use a low temperature wax to cause less pain. When the wax cools he will pull it out with your pubic hair. This part is the most painful one. However, the first time is the most painful one. The hair can be pulled out easier in the following times.
The waxer will ask you to get into some weird positions – holding your legs up, to the side and even over your head.

If the waxer is a good one the painful part will end quickly. If you feel it takes too long or that the pain is unbearable, just tell the therapist that you need a little rest. When the waxing is done a soothing lotion should be applied to the pubic area. Your bikini area will stay smooth for at least 3 weeks with no maintenance at all. Make the most out of it.
