7 Reasons Why you Should Consider It, Brazilian Waxing

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

The Brazilian wax is the next level up from the bikini wax
the former removes all pubic hair while the bikini wax leaves some hair.

The Brazilian wax is more popular than ever today and most women who have one are delighted – not only are they fashionable, but they give a women freedom and are sensual for both men and women.
Origins and popularity

The Brazilian wax originated in Brazil, so women wanting to wear the then-new thong bikinis, which was not widely popular inside the United States at the time.

Brazilian Waxing
became popular in the 1990s in the US before spreading worldwide.

1. It’s hygienic
Waxing of the public area is not new and centuries ago in ancient civilizations such as Persia and India women were waxing their pubic hair.
One of the main reasons is hygiene.
Pubic hair is magnet for germs that can cause bad odors and a variety of skin irritations. Shaving off the pubic hair will dramatically reduce the risk of these problems

2. It Gives you Freedom
You can wear that skimpy bikini, or swimsuit with confidence and lingerie that’s as revealing as you wish without the problem of unslightly hair running your look

3. It’s Sensual
Women have reported frequently they feel more sensual and have more intense orgasms after having a Brazilian wax. Do men like it?
In a recent poll 91% men said that they found it both more attractive and erotic.

4. It’s cheap
Today a Brazilian wax treatment at a salon is not just for the rich with the rise in the popularity of people waxing Brazilian style salons are offering it as a standard beauty treatment and prices are affordable to all.
You can get DIY Waxing kits you can use at home but these require some caution and you are best of to use a professional waxer in a salon to avoid accidents

5. It doesn’t take long
In around about 30 minutes a skilled waxer will have the treatment completed, so it’s really as quick as having your nails done.
Like your nails though you need regular treatments as pubic hair re grows.

6. The pain is not as bad as most women think!
The pain is not as bad as many women believe it would be (it is still painful though) and it is tolerable for most women, furthermore as you do more waxing treatments the pain drops down as your skin becomes used to the treatment.

7. The Brazilian wax is more popular than ever and if you want to try it and you’re not sure about the pain start with a Bikini wax first to see how you feel.

So it’s hygienic, sensual, liberating, affordable and takes very little time so there is a lot to be said for waxing Brazilian style, if you have not considered all the advantages add them up and take the plunge.

What’s New for Summer in Sweet Samba Boutique?

Long dresses are the new black

Normally the summertime is meant to show off those toned legs and arms in something short. Well why not leave a little to the imagination by not giving it all away too fast. Remember what mom said when you were in high school. Well the same applies now-leave a little something to the imagination. Follow in the footsteps of celebs like Paris Hilton, Anne Hathaway and Jessica Simpson who love long dresses, and don this fabulous long purple cotton dress. So you can now say you actually did something that mom told you to do. Well kind of. You didn’t hire that personal trainer at L.A. Fitness for flabby arms did you? Show them off.

Into the Wild

Want to look like you zipped to an exotic place for a weekend jaunt and picked up some clothes in a land glamorous and far away? Or just look like Lauren Conrad from The Hills? Well stop by Sweet Samba’s boutique and pick up this blue, black, brown, yellow and red Ikat top and pair it with some cute little black shorts or some skinny leg colored jeans. Perhaps even try it out over another Ikat print dress to, you know, spice it up a little. In case you haven’t already.

Hey baby

Nobody puts baby in the corner, according to Johnny in Dirty Dancing. Well no one puts you in the corner either. Especially in that fantastic embroidered top, we just got in at Sweet Samba’s boutique. Embroidery is huge this summer and has been all over the runways of Bryant Park (New York Fashion Week). So even though we know you’re not a slave to trends, you like to be in the know. So scoop up on of these tops and everyone will be asking, where in the world did she get that?

One Shoulder Dresses

Living it up once in a while like a celeb is fine, but dressing like one all the time. Ahem we can’t afford that. But lately the one shoulder dress has often been seen on many celebs. And obviously it is flattering on most body types because we have seen it on everyone from the star of Twilight, Kristen Stewart to Miley Cyrus to Kim and Khole Kardashian. And obviously the beautiful First Lady Michelle Obama kicked off this trend as she wore the up and coming designer Jason Wu’s white one shoulder dress to the inauguration ball this year. As a matter of fact, Wu will be the honoree at Fashion Cares here in Atlanta this August. But back to the point, one shoulder dresses are hot right now.

Michelle Obama jump started the trend of One Shonder Dress this year and the rest is History.

So hot, in fact we have the black one shoulder dress in our boutique similar to the Kardashian girls’ dresses. We are betting they paid a pretty penny for their frocks but ours’ are only $60. So you know you read U.S. Weekly and follow what everyone wears, so why not swing by and pick up some essentials at our boutique. It’s not like you constantly have to worry that the paparazzi is following you.

Organic Facials

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

image003.jpg

Sweet Samba will be offering organic facials from Eminence Organics. For half a century, Eminence has been refining and improving the formulas for their spa products, using nature’s own ingredients to enhance and assist in the body’s own rejuvenating and healing functions.

Originally, the herbs, fruits and vegetables used to develop the Eminence product line were brought from small Hungarian villages, or hand picked and processed from our own gardens. Today these natural ingredients continue to be grown in organic conditions in Hungary in our exclusive farms. Natural ingredients from the earth and seas, such as: linden and calendula plants, jasmine and rose petals, rosehip, yarrow, green foods, nettles, paprika, natural thermal mineral spring waters, plus a variety of botanical extracts give rise to a beautiful, clear, balanced, revitalized, and naturally glowing complexion, visible results that only nature can produce.

Eminence ingredients are free of parabens and other harsh chemicals and are guaranteed to be 100% natural to ensure that Sweet Samba’s clients see and feel the dramatic results associated with the Eminence line. Eminence products have never been tested on animals, and our packaging is 100% recyclable.

Our skin acts as a barrier between us and the outside world, but sometimes being a barrier is a dirty job. Dirt, smoke, pollution and the sun can wreak havoc on our complexion, leaving it looking dull, aged and sallow. Facials help to rejuvenate the skin by rehydrating, exfoliating, and deep cleansing your hard working skin. Our licensed estheticians work with you to identify your skin’s needs and properly care for them with organic products that help your face defy time.

Not only do facials cleanse and restore natural moisture, they also act as a preventative measure to premature aging by minimizing blemishes, dry skin, wrinkles and acne. Facials also increase circulation and improve stress levels, helping our skin’s true beauty shine, even through all of the stuff we put it through. To fully reap the anti-aging benefits of facials, it is advisable to begin receiving them every other month.

A Brazilian bikini wax, to do or not to do it

Sunday, May 24th, 2009

I don’t know what sparked the conversation about Brazilians between my roommate, Shelley and I, but bikini waxing came up. But I had never had one. Shelley gets them done every month at this random nail salon down the street. She suggested I go with her and get one. But I wasn’t really convinced. I mean the whole shaving thing got old and I was certainly ready for something else, but I thought (and heard) bikini waxing was incredibly painful.

I got online to do some research and Googled for a while. Then I found this Facebook fan page for Sweet Samba Boutique & Spa that does bikini waxing (obviously). Intrigued by the name, I asked Shelley about it and told her about the $35 special for a Brazilian bikini wax. We decided to go in and try it out. $35 is not much and Shelley pays something like $60 every time she goes. Anyway long story short, I had a great experience at Sweet Samba. It’s in this super cute house by Piedmont Park. When I walked in, they offered me some wine! Ha yes I would like some wine in the middle of my work day. Thank you. My esthetician made me feel a lot better about the whole pain factor. She thoroughly explained the process and got down to business while I was watching TV. FYI they have TV’s on the ceiling which you know, kind of got my mind off of the whole waxing thing. Sure I was a little bit uncomfortable, but it was nothing like I thought. I’m definitely going back! So for all of you who think Brazilians are painful, stop by Sweet Samba. They are really clean, quick and professional. You won’t be disappointed. And check out their Facebook page!
